Near North
Near North is an
area located directly north of Chicago's Loop, east of River North and
south of Lincoln Park. It is considered one of Chicago's most luxurious
communities, which has created one of the most competitive real estate
markets in the country. The "Magnificent Mile" resides in Near North,
which is a mile of some of the most high end shopping in the city and a
must see for first time visitors to Chicago. The stores, restaurants,
and businesses cater to all people with stores including Gap, Gucci, The
Apple Store, and Crate and Barrel.
Navy Pier is
another notable tourist attraction within the Near North boundaries,
which underwent a $150 million redevelopment project that has
transformed it into a year-round attraction and convention center.
Fireworks are displayed here twice a week, and with many restaurants,
the Shakespeare Theater, I-MAX, and the Children's Museum there are
entertainment options for everyone.
Near north real
estate is mainly comprised of luxury condominiums, townhomes, and lavish
mansions with the occasional high-end rental.
